Four-Year, $12 Million Deal for Former Penguins Forward

Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues has signed a four-year, $12 million contract with the Florida Panthers. The contract carries a cap hit of $3 million per season and includes an $8.9 million signing bonus.
Rodrigues was acquired by the Penguins from the Buffalo Sabres in a trade that sent Dominik Kahun to Buffalo. In 82 games with Pittsburgh last season, Rodrigues scored 19 goals and added 25 assists.
The 29-year-old forward is expected to play a key role for the Panthers, who are looking to build on their success from last season. Florida won the Presidents Trophy in 2022-23 but was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.
Rodrigues is a versatile forward who can play both center and wing. He is known for his offensive skills and his ability to create scoring chances for his teammates.
