Graceland's Uncertain Future
Elvis Presley's Granddaughter Sues to Stop Foreclosure Sale
Historic Memphis Home Could be Determined in Court
The future of Graceland, Elvis Presley's historic Memphis home, could be determined in court on Wednesday after a bizarre set of events.
Elvis Presley's granddaughter, Lisa Marie Presley, is suing to stop a foreclosure sale of the late singer's historic Memphis home. Naussany Investments and Private Lending said Lisa Marie Presley had used Graceland as collateral for the loan and that the company would sell it.
The entire Graceland complex is over 200,000 square feet in size and includes an exhibition center and a 450-room hotel.
Graceland, the historic home of Elvis Presley, is set to be sold off at a foreclosure sale this Thursday.
The outcome of the court hearing will have a significant impact on the future of Graceland. If Lisa Marie Presley's lawsuit is successful, Graceland will remain in the Presley family's hands. However, if the foreclosure sale proceeds, Graceland will be sold to the highest bidder.
