As per the official document from the MalacaƱang Palace, the President of the Philippines declares Friday, April 21, 2023, as a special non-working holiday in observance of the Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadan).
The entire Filipino Muslim community, along with everyone else in the country, shall have the opportunity to celebrate their religious holiday with their families and loved ones.
The Palace encourages everyone to take part in the festivities and partake in the spirit of unity and goodwill this holiday brings.
The proclamation further states that this holiday declaration is in line with the Republic Act 9849, which mandates the President to declare the first day of Shawwal as a regular holiday throughout the country.
The Palace also reminds everyone to observe the minimum public health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) during the holiday to ensure the safety and well-being of the people.
